Obituary: Sandra R. Morton, 70, Of Wallingford

Sandra loved to visit antique shops where she always looked for treasures, and she enjoyed relaxing at home watching her favorite shows.

WALLINGFORD, CT — (From Wallingford Funeral Home): Sandra R. Morton, 70, beloved wife of Allen H. Morton, of Wallingford, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 25, 2023, surrounded by her loving family and friends at Midstate Medical Center following a long valiant battle with cancer. Born in Castine, Maine on July 24, 1953, she was a daughter of the late Hazen and Sireta (Herrick) Hatch.

As a young woman, Sandra met her husband Allen, the couple was married on July 26, 1969. They made their home and raised their daughters in Meriden and Wallingford. They were married over 54 years. Allen loved her dearly and will miss her very much.

Sandra loved to visit antique shops where she always looked for treasures, and she enjoyed relaxing at home watching her favorite shows. She was also an animal lover and had a special bond with her 2 cats, Snowball and Sophie. But above all, Sandra was the most loving, caring, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. Her family and friends meant absolutely everything to her.

In addition to her beloved husband, Sandra is survived by her cherished daughters, Kathleen Santoni of Wallingford and Brenda Morton and her partner, Matthew Irish of Meriden; her grandchildren, Ashley Williamson of Plantsville, Tanya Wellington and her husband, Patrick of Wallingford, Michael Santoni of Wallingford and Scott Morton of Meriden; her great-grandchildren, Michael Williamson Jr., Gianna Williamson and Briella Williamson; her sister, Sharon Peirano of Maine; her brother, Hazen Hatch Jr. and his wife, Debbie of Florida; her 2 cats, Snowball and Sophie; as well as numerous extended family members and many beloved friends. We loved her and will miss her very much.

In addition to her parents, Sandra was predeceased by her sister, Barbara Pelkey; her son-in-law, Christopher A. Santoni and her brother-in-law, Joseph Peirano.

A private ceremony will be held. Arrangements are under the direction of The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St. Ext., Wallingford.
