Obituary: Stanley Joseph Rogalski Jr., 75, Of Wallingford

He obtained his home improvement license and started Stan's Handyman Services, which he operated until his retirement in 2022.

WALLINGFORD, CT — (From Wallingford Funeral Home): Stanley Joseph Rogalski, Jr. of Wallingford passed away on February 23, 2024. He is survived by his devoted wife Sharon (Karbowski) Rogalski, who was “the love of his life.” Their lives were joined together in friendship, united forever in love for 24 years.

Stan was a gentle, caring person with a quiet personality. Sharon brought out the party person in him, and their home was always filled with friends and family sharing fun-filled get-togethers.

Stan was born on October 12, 1948. He graduated from Eli Whitney Technical School and became a licensed plumber having his own plumbing business before becoming a sales associate in the plumbing and special services department for Home Depot.

His talents and expertise expanded to where he could fix or build anything. He obtained his home improvement license and started Stan’s Handyman Services, which he operated until his retirement in 2022. Stan prided himself on always returning calls and making time to respond to a frantic caller who had an emergency.

Stan and Sharon enjoyed traveling throughout the New England states. They spent weeks in the spring and fall at their timeshare in New Hampshire and for 22 years enjoyed their condo in Newport, RI. Stan took his first plane ride in 2004 at the age of 56 when they flew to Florida and vacationed at Disney World and traveled up the West Coast. Three years later they flew to Italy to attend the wedding of their friends’ daughter and toured many of Italy’s cities.

Stan was a Boy Scout leader for many years, a former member of the Wallingford Rod and Gun Club, and former member of Christ & The Epiphany Church in East Haven, where he served as Junior Warden and Chairman of Building and Grounds. He was an active member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Wallingford.

Stan was predeceased by his parents, Stanley and Helen Rogalski. He is survived by his sister Sandra Winston of Abingdon, MD, his brother John (Louise) Rogalski of New Haven, and his special cousin Karyn (Richard) Turcotte of West Haven. He was the father of Michelle Rogalski, Jennifer (Attila) Gyurovszky, and Brian Rogalski.

Stan loved dogs. He spent many years volunteering at fundraising events for Animal Haven. He leaves behind his two springer spaniels, Madison and Skyler, who brought him joy and laughter every day.

In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Stan may be made to The Animal Haven, Inc., 89 Mill Road, North Haven, CT 06473.

A funeral service celebrating Stan's life will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 65 North Main Street, Wallingford. The family will greet friends from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. before the service begins at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Centerville Cemetery, Washington Avenue, Hamden.
