Obituary: Susan Cosgrove, 67, Of Wallingford

WALLINGFORD, CT — (From B.C. Bailey Funeral Home): Susan Cosgrove, 67, departed this life on November 21, 2022 at Hartford Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Gary Cosgrove.

Susan was born April 8, 1955 to the late Cecil and Jane (Harper) Lanford.

Susan started her teaching career in Wallingford where she taught general music. She worked in the New Haven School system for several years teaching general music and string ensemble. She was an educator for many years at the Betsy Ross Arts Magnet School in New Haven where she spent most of her career. She was the string ensemble director and music department chair at BRAMS. She had a Master's degree in music education.

Sue was a member of the Wallingford Emblem Club where she served as president. She was president of the Ladies Aid Society, was the choir director, and a member of the Music Board at Zion Lutheran Church for many years.

If Sue wasn't with her family you could find her at Zion Lutheran Church helping out with events, organizing events, or worshiping. She had a very strong faith that helped her through life.

Susan is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law: David Cosgrove and Jennie DellaRocco of Hamden, Gary Cosgrove, Jr. and Erica of Wallingford; her grandchildren: Sal Cosgrove, Michael, James and Mackenzie Marquardt; her sister, Linda Kafka and her husband Steve; her brother-in-law: John Wilcox; sister-in-law: Gayle Koles; niece: Mary Wilcoxbrodeur; and nephews: Joey and Chris Kafka and Bob and James Wilcox.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Zion Lutheran Church. The B.C. Bailey Funeral Home of Wallingford has been entrusted with the arrangements.
