Obituary: Victoria Rae Abate, 79, Of Wallingford
Besides raising her five children, Victoria enjoyed cooking, especially holiday meals, and baking cookies and holiday pies for all occasions

WALLINGFORD, CT — (From Wallingford Funeral Home): Victoria Rae Abate, 79, of Wallingford, loving wife of Joseph Abate for 57 years, passed away December 7, 2022 at MidState Medical Center.
Victoria was born in New Haven on November 12, 1943, a daughter of the late Joseph and Jessie (Bursinsky) Anaballi.
Victoria married, became a homemaker and raised her family. Besides raising her five children, Victoria enjoyed cooking, especially holiday meals, and baking cookies and holiday pies for all occasions.

She enjoyed spending time watching the Yankees, old Cowboy movies and game shows with her best friend of 57 years.
Victoria loved sewing, and was always in her chair doing her cross stitches. Over the years she enjoyed making her daughters holiday dresses as well as wedding dresses for family and friends. She enjoyed her trips to the casino, Las Vegas, and cruises.

Spending time with her family was what she loved most, especially spending time with her four Grandchildren and three Great Grandchildren.
Victoria is survived by her sons, Salvatore Abate and his wife, Sue of Wallingford, Joseph Abate of Cromwell and Vincent Abate of Northford; her daughters, Victoria Abate of Wallingford and Christine Abate and her wife, Julie Cook, of Hallowell, Maine; Her sisters, Theresa Duvall and her husband, Ron, of Newport, RI, and Nancy Seuss and her husband, John, of Myrtle Beach, SC; her grandchildren, Alicia Roldan and her husband, James, Danielle Crook and her husband, Charles, Peter Abate and Juliana Abate; her great grandchildren, Braelyn and Evan Roldan and Jaxon Crook; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved cat, “Little Joe.” She was predeceased by her sisters, Carol Gianotti and Geraldine Pascale.
Victoria’s family will receive relatives and friends at The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street Ext on Monday, December 12, 2022 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at Most Holy Trinity Church in Wallingford. Interment with military honors will be at State Veterans Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane in Middletown.
