Obituary: Virginia Dorsey Huelsman, 85, Of Wallingford
She worked for her family's business, Dorsey Dairy, at a young age and was a member of the Auxiliary Police Department and a crossing guard.

WALLINGFORD, CT — (From Wallingford Funeral Home): Virginia “Ginny” “Mutsie” Dorsey Huelsman, 85, of Wallingford, passed away Friday, February 17, 2023, at Yale New Haven Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Robert K. Huelsman of 65 years.
Ginny was born in Meriden, August 18, 1937, a daughter of the late Dominick and Mary (Hirkst) Dorsey and was raised in Wallingford where she graduated from Washington Street School and Lyman Hall High School in the class of 1955. She began working at a young age delivering milk for her family’s business Dorsey Dairy. Later she became a member of the Auxiliary Police Department having worked as a crossing guard on Washington Street.
Ginny also worked in the accounting department at First National Bank, Pratt and Whitney Aircraft and wore many hats in the office of her family’s company, Atlantic Equipment Installers.

Ginny enjoyed life, especially traveling. She once went to get an oil change and ended up buying a motor home. She and her husband Robert relished time at their home in Titusville, Florida. She never missed a party and was known to be the first to arrive and last to survive.
An avid golfer, she was a member of Wallingford Country Club and the Great Outdoors Golf Club, achieving a hole-in-one at each course. She and Robert won the Mixed Couple’s Championship three times at W.C.C. Ginny also loved bowling at Colony lanes and was a member of the Wallingford Elks Lodge.

In addition to her husband Robert, she is survived by her sons, Robert (Jane) Huelsman and Donald (Sharon) Huelsman; her grandchildren, Nicole Huelsman, Brittany (Scott) Levenduski, Derek (Aimie) Huelsman, and Stephanie Huelsman (Francesco Picone); her great grandchildren, Rilynn Levenduski, Teagan Levenduski and Hadley Huelsman; her sister, Carolyn “Sam” Vanacore; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her daughter, Linda Huelsman; and her sisters, Barbara “Bede” (Mrs. Joseph Jr.) Flis and Mary Ann “Foxie” DeBaise.
Ginny’s family would like to extend thanks to her caregivers, Janita, Judy, Tasha, and Christa as well as her nurses, Kevin and Leto who all provided exceptional care to her.
