Obituary: William J. Straub, 61, Of Wallingford
Bill dedicated his adult life to service of others through his love of coaching youth teams in Meriden and Wallingford.

WALLINGFORD, CT — (From Wallingford Funeral Home): William J. Straub, 61, of Wallingford, passed away on Friday, September 23, 2022. He was the loving husband of Jennifer M. (Puttre) Straub.
William was born in Meriden, June 8, 1961, a son of the late Raymond “Jim” and Catherine “Kay” Straub. He was a graduate of Central CT State University and worked in accounting as a medical billing supervisor.
In addition to his wife Jennifer, he is survived by his children, Anna Catherine Straub and Thomas James Straub. He was predeceased by his brother, Thomas J. Straub.

Bill dedicated his adult life to service of others through his love of coaching youth teams in Meriden and Wallingford. He led a non-profit organization, the Thomas John Straub Wrestling Foundation. Money raised by the foundation is awarded in the form of an annual college scholarship to a Maloney H.S. Wrestling Team member in memory of Bill’s brother. The Foundation also supports Meriden Youth Wrestling.
William’s family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., on THURSDAY, Sept. 29 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on SATURDAY, Oct. 1, at 10 a.m. directly at St. Bridget of Sweden, 175 Main St., Cheshire. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Meriden.
