Obituary: William Stewart Palmer, 72, Of Wallingford

William was drafted by the Army and served his country in Vietnam. After service, he was a Union Local 90 Electrician.

WALLINGFORD, CT — (From B.C. Bailey Funeral Home): William Palmer - dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend - passed away peacefully in his summer home in Sweden, Maine on July 19, 2023. He was born on December 8th, 1950 in Meriden, Connecticut and was a lifetime resident of Wallingford.

William was drafted by the Army and served his country in Vietnam. After service, he was a Union Local 90 Electrician. In retirement, he was able to spend more time with family and friends and was an active member of White Oak Baptist Church.

William is survived by his wife, Ruth (McBride) of 41 years; his children Nathaniel and his wife Tara, David and his wife Lindsay and Hannah Stewart and her husband Brett; and his grandchildren; Cecilia, Clare, Lily and Cameron Palmer. William’s family will remember him as an avid outdoorsman, a family man and a wonderful storyteller.

Calling hours will be held Friday, July 28 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at B.C. Bailey Funeral Home. A graveside funeral will be held on Saturday, July 29th at 10am at the In Memoriam Cemetery in Wallingford.
