Overturned Vehicle On I-91 Causes Traffic Headache in Wallingford

DOT: Accident happened between exits 14 and 13, southbound lane now closed.

WALLINGFORD, CT — One lane is close on Interstate 91 in Wallingford, resulting in snarled traffic, due to an overturned vehicle.

According to the state Department of Transportation, the accident happened at about 1:25 p.m. Saturday in I-91's southbound lane between exits 14 and 13 on the highway.

Later in the afternoon, the DOT announced the southbound lane was closed at about 1:51 p.m. to facilitate accident cleanup and investigation.

The DOT estimates it will take, at the most, three hours to clean up the scene and for traffic to return to normal.
