St. Vincent de Paul Middletown participates every year in the Foodshare Walk Against Hunger, the largest anti-hunger fundraising event in Connecticut. Last year over 100 people participated on behalf of our agency, raising over $34,000 for those struggling to put food on the table. We're hoping to see an ocean of SVDM Walkers wearing our signature bright orange t-shirt again this year on Sunday, May 7th.
Our Soup Kitchen and Amazing Grace Food Pantry continue to experience unprecedented demand for nutritious food, with our programs providing approximately 340,000 meals last year. With decreases in funding from so many other sources, the Foodshare Walk Against Hunger is more important than ever to keeping up with the demand for food right here in Middletown.
