WALLINGFORD, CT — A scary scene unfolded when a pickup truck crashed into a nail salon on East Center Street in Wallingford on Thursday morning. Police responded to the scene just before 10:40 a.m. on March 14 and determined that an 86-year-old man drove his 2018 Nissan Frontier into the front of the Sun Nail Salon. The business is located at 824D East Center Street in the strip plaza.

The man claimed that his foot slipped off the brake and onto the gas pedal, according to Lt. Cheryl Bradley. Neither the driver nor the several employees in the business at the time of the crash were injured, according to Bradley.

Bradley said the man wasn’t cited, however, his operator’s license was “seized and will be forwarded to the Department of Motor Vehicle for review.”
