Popular Smoothie, Juice Bar Opening In Wallingford Movie Theater
The popular smoothie and juice bar is opening its third Connecticut location in Wallingford.
WALLINGFORD, CT — A popular smoothie and juice bar business is opening its third Connecticut location at Holiday Cinemas in Wallingford next week. Boost Bowls, the brainchild of Tatiana and Valdrin Mehmeti of Danbury, will hold its official opening on Thursday, March 7, at Holiday Cinemas at 970 North Colony Road in Wallingford. To help celebrate the opening, Boost Bowl will be giving away bowls to the first 30 customers on March 7.
Using “strictly fresh, natural ingredients, Boost Bowls combines fruits like bananas, peaches or pears with drizzles and exotic toppings,” and offers fitness-oriented favorites such as smoothies, juices and high-protein shakes, according to a news release.
There’s also the “build your own” bowl, which uses a “base of Acai fruit harvested from rainforests in Brazil, or other healthy choices like Pitaya, avocado, yogurt or banana. Moviegoers then choose three toppings made from superfoods such as hemp or chia seeds, walnuts, goji berries, quinoa and bee pollen. Customers literally create food art when they get to make their own bowl with their choice of fresh fruit, toppings, super foods and drizzles. If you need an extra boost, you can mix protein into your base. Vegan and gluten-free options are available,” according to the release.

“The drizzles are what turns an average bowl into a foodie’s dream,” Tatiana Mehmeti said. “Drizzles like honey, peanut butter, almond butter, agave and Nutella add a touch of sweetness and extra bit of protein. We wanted to offer more options in theaters that pairs well with the cinema’s concessions menu. We truly believe that our delicious one-of-a-kind offerings will be a fresh fit for movie buffs, as well as those who want to get a natural dose of energy throughout their day, in addition to a boost to their immune systems.”
Speaking of boosts, the menu also features Matcha, which is made from specially grown and ground green tea leaves.

“Matcha is a fantastic natural energy booster due to having caffeine,” Tatiana Mehmeti said. “It’s like drinking 10 cups of green tea but it also promotes a healthy heart and brain and can aid in meeting weight loss goals. After a long day, a Matcha tea or smoothie can help one stay awake. Boost uses Grade A Matcha and whisked to perfection, Matcha is so versatile. We offer Matcha lemonade made with fresh lemon juice, a latte or just plain Matcha tea.”
Boost Bowls also has locations at 16 P.T. Barnum Square in Bethel and inside Riverview Cinemas at 690 Main Street South in Southbury.
Boost Bowls offers prices competitive with cinema offerings and will be open to customers 12 noon to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Customers welcomed to come in for a drink or snack, even without catching a movie. For more information, contact 203 678-4922 or visit Boost-bowls.com for more menu options.
