WALLINGFORD, CT — Moran Middle School in Wallingford is closed on the first day of school due to a power outage. A tree fell on a utility pole and took out the main power to Moran, according to Superintendent of Schools Dr. Salvatore Menzo.

“Frontier owns the pole-needs to replace before power is restored,” Menzo wrote in a post on Twitter. “We thank Wallingford Electric for their support and hard work. We apologize for any inconvenience to students and families.”

Moran was the only school affected by the power outage and all other Wallingford schools are open.
