QU Professor - Wallingford Resident - Elected To Board

Robert Yawson of Wallingford was elected to a three-year term on the board of directors for the Academy of Human Resource Development.

From QU: Robert Yawson of Wallingford, assistant professor of management at Quinnipiac University, recently was elected to a three-year term on the board of directors for the Academy of Human Resource Development.

The Academy of Human Resource Development is a non-profit organization that encourages the systematic study of human resources development theories, processes and practices. The academy’s mission is to publicize information about human resources development, encourage the application of human resources findings and provide opportunities for social interactions among individuals with scholarly and professional interests in human resources development. The academy’s board of directors is the primary governing body and has legal and financial accountability.

“I am excited and humbled to be elected to serve on the board of such a leading academic organization,” Yawson said. “Serving on a board of a global organization that sponsors three prestigious international research conferences per year, publishes four academic journals, and has approximately 700 members across the world, is a great honor for me and for Quinnipiac.”

Yawson has his master’s degree in science, technology and environmental policy and his doctor of philosophy in organizational leadership, policy and development from the University of Minnesota. He also has a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and a master’s degree in biochemistry from the University of Ghana. In addition, Yawson serves on the editorial board of the International Journal of Business and Systems Research and is the associate editor of the Organizational Management Journal.
