Record Store Day to Come to Wallingford

Are you a fan of music on vinyl? A local record store in downtown Wallingford will, again, be participating in Record Store Day on April 20.

April 20 is almost here, and for you vinyl fans out there that means one thing: Record Store Day.

Record Store Day is a relatively new concept, however it has been gaining in popularity over the past few years. It’s a day celebrating records and when artists and stores alike will sell vinyl versions of their music at discounted prices.

Check out more about Record Store Day here.

And at Red Scroll Records in Wallingford, it is one two of the heaviest foot traffic days of the year, the other being Black Friday, said Co-Owner Rick Sinkiewicz.

Red Scroll, located at 24 North Colony Road around the corner from the town’s gazebo, has been in business about as long as Record Store Day has been around, Sinkiewicz said, and they’ve been partaking in the Record Store Day festivities every year.

He said people volunteer to help out and customers will usually get little gifts or giveaways along with their purchases. Usually Red Scroll has a line outside at the start of Record Day too, he said.
