Road Closure Announced for Wallingford 350th Celebration Kick-Off Parade
The kick-off parade for the Wallingford 350th Celebration in 2020 will be held Saturday, May 21.

WALLINGFORD, CT — The kick-off parade for the Wallingford 350th Celebration in 2020 will be held on Saturday, May 21 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The Wallingford 350th celebration is slated to take place the weekend of June 20, 2020 and the town plans to hold one or two large events each year leading up to the big event, starting with Saturday’s kick-off parade.
As a result of the parade, Wallingford Police announce the following road closure and parking prohibition that will be in effect for all vehicular traffic:

Road Closure:
- South Main Street will be closed to all motor vehicle traffic between the intersection of Center Street, and the intersection of Prince Street, on Saturday May 21, 2016 between 11 a.m. and 12:15 p.m.
Parking prohibitions:

- In anticipation of the road closure, there will be no parking on South Main Street between Center Street and Prince Street beginning at 10 a.m. on May 21, 2016 and throughout the duration of the event.
Please be reminded that vehicles parked in violation of this prohibition will be subject to the issuance of a parking ticket by police and removal by tow truck.
Parade Route:
- The Parade will begin at the intersection of North Main Street and Christian Street promptly at 11 a.m. Four (4) units of the Connecticut Army Nation Guard will march in a southerly direction on North Main Street and culminate on South Main Street fronting the Town Hall.
- As the parade marches along North Main Street traffic flow will be severely restricted for approximately 20 minutes. Motorists are reminded to obey all traffic barricades, cones, and detours. Driving through or around barricades can endanger parade marchers and onlookers.
