Road Closure Announced In Wallingford

Police are advising motorists of a road closure that will be in effect in Wallingford.

WALLINGFORD, CT — Police are advising residents of a road closure that will be in effect starting Tuesday, March 17, in Wallingford.

Police said starting March 17 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., and “continuing over the next few months,” Eversource will be performing gas pipeline enhancement work in the areas of Washington Street, Parker Street and Silk Street in Wallingford.

The road closure will take place through the work area, according to police.

  • Washington Street will be closed between Silk Street and Hall Avenue.
  • Wallingford Police Officers will be on-site to assist drivers at closed intersections.
  • Detour and warning signs will be posted throughout the area.
  • GPL Construction and Wallingford Police will assist with school bus traffic.
  • Expect increased construction activity—please drive carefully.
  • The Senior Center will remain open, accessible from the Parker Street side via Silk Street and Washington Street.
