Road Closures, Parking Bans Announced For Holiday Events In Wallingford
Police have announced several road closures and parking bans that will be in effect for the Holiday Stroll and Season of Celebration events.

WALLINGFORD, CT — Wallingford police announced the following road closures and parking bans that will be in effect for the upcoming Holiday Stroll and Seasons of Celebration/Frosty Parade events.
Holiday Stroll – Friday, Dec. 2

Parking will also be prohibited on the south side of Hall Avenue between North Colony Road and the railroad crossing starting at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 2 to allow food trucks time to set up. “The reason for the Center Street parking prohibition is because the police administration has recognized the growth of the holiday stroll over the years and identified a safety concern, for which they are going to take a proactive measure to help alleviate,” police wrote in the news release. “During previous strolls, the sidewalks become very congested to include participants stopping to talk with one another and to shop. This causes other participants who are looking to continue on with the stroll to have to walk into the street, sometimes around and in-between parked vehicles along the northern side of Center Street. It is the hopes of the police administration, that this will give participants a safe space to walk should they have to step off of the sidewalk and into the street. Participants are encouraged to use the sidewalks and only step into the street in order to pass others.
“Please be reminded that vehicles parked in violation of this prohibition will be subject to the issuance of a parking ticket by police and removal by tow truck.”
