Roof Partially Collapses at Wallingford Sunoco Gas Station (Updated)

The gas station is located on River Road.

The driver of the vehicle was pumping gas at the time of the collapse but escaped injury, according to the Meriden Record-Journal.

The owner of the Sunoco, Rashid Sherwani, told the Record-Journal that the gas station will be closed for a few days until they are sure the canopy is safe.

The canopy of the Sunoco gas station on River Road in Wallingford collapsed late Tuesday afternoon with a car under it, according to multiple reports.

A gas station employee told NBC Connecticut that no one was hurt in the incident.

The gas station is located at the corner of Route 150 and River Road.
