Sheehan Falls To Sacred Heart Academy In SCC Girls Basketball Championship: PHOTOS
The sixth-seeded Titans lost a defensive battle with top-seeded Sacred Heart Academy, which won its second straight SCC championship.
HAMDEN, CT — The sixth-seeded Sheehan girls basketball team put up a fight, but lost to top-seeded Sacred Heart Academy 34-27 in the SCC girls basketball championship game Monday at M&T Bank Arena on the campus of Quinnipiac University in Hamden.
It was the second straight SCC championship for Sacred Heart Academy and its fifth overall. The Sharks were playing in their sixth straight SCC final, while it was Sheehan’s first-ever appearance in the championship game.
The Titans (19-5) went on a 7-0 run in the second half to get within 32-27 with less than 5 minutes to go, but the Sharks held on for the victory, according to GameTimeCT.

Freshman Finley Gunning led Sacred Heart Academy (19-2) with 10 points, while Mila Harmon had nine points and Madelyn Burke added six.
Megan Wresien scored a game-high 15 points for Sheehan, while Jenna Wresien finished with eight points.
