Sheehan Wins Class M Baseball Championship

Congratulations to the Titans for winning their fourth state title!

The Sheehan baseball team claimed its fourth state championship in impressive fashion, shutting down second-seeded Montville 5-0 in the Class M title game Friday night at Palmer Field in Middletown.

Sheehan struck first, scoring two runs in the first inning, added two more in the third and closed out the scoring with a run in the sixth.

Brandon Rentas and Zach Hart took care of the rest, combining on a two-hit shutout for the fourth-seeded Titans, who beat Goodwin Tech, Ellington, Ledyard and East Catholic en route to the title game.

“This year we knew we had the talent,” Hart told Henry Chisholm of GameTimeCT after the game. “We knew we had the talent to get here. We worked all season to get here.”
