Square Foot Theatre Announces 2017-2018 Board of Directors

Jared Andrew Brown, Executive Director and Co-Founder of the Square Foot Theatre, and Patrick Laffin, Director of Education, Technical Director and Co-Founder, are pleased to announce their new Board of Directors. who will assist in helping Square Foot Theatre fulfill its mission of providing quality theatre and education to our community. "As we begin our next ten years, we are so grateful to those who have helped us get to where we are today and are so excited for the years ahead," they write.

Sandra Mascia
President

Sandy has been involved with the Square Foot Theatre as a parent and volunteer since 2009. She comes from a legal background, previously working as a paralegal, and also has experience in sales and customer service. In her second term on the Board of Directors, Sandy will serve as President and act as an ambassador to promote positive relationships and strong partnerships for the benefit of the theatre and its constituents.

Steven Rignoli
Director of Operations & Treasurer

Steven has been with the Square Foot Theatre Company for over 8 years, beginning as an actor in 2009 and staff member in 2013. He will now also serve as an officer and treasurer of the organization. Steven recently earned a bachelor's degree in management and is pursuing a master's in organizational leadership. He currently works as a Student Account Administrator at Albertus Magnus College and previously worked in institutional advancement.

Jenya Weinreb
Director of Administration & Secretary

Jenya, managing editor at Yale University Press, has over fifeen years of management experience. Born into a musical family, she grew up singing, dancing, acting, and playing piano and violin. After college, she took a break from the stage until 2015, when she rediscovered her love of musical theater in the ensemble of SFT's Rocky Horror Show. In her role on the board, Jenya will help formulate policies and procedures and will ensure that operations are both optimally supported and cost-effective.

Michael Benedetti
Director of Business Evaluation

Mike has been working in the insurance industry for the past 19 years. He is currently an insurance agent in Hamden, specializing in life, business and personal insurance. In his second term on the Board of Directors, Mike will ensure that our organizational objectives and operating requirements are met and line with the needs and mission of the theatre.

Christopher Sumrell
Director of Business Relations

Christopher has been performing for over 20 years with a background in theater and film performance. He has maintained a Screen Actors Guild membership since 2009. As an executive assistant and former business owner, he has experience in many areas of business operations. Chris will work to develop strategies that increase relationships within the business community.

Stephanie Bregman
Director of Community Enrichment

Stephanie is serving her second term on the board of directors and has been involved with SFT since 2010. Stephanie has taught special education for 15 years and has recently become a certified coach. She also has a background in technical theatre production. In her role, Stephanie will work on maintaining a strong sense of community within the SFT family.

Colleen Zona
Director of Donor Relations

Colleen has been an SFT parent since the theatre's inception. She has been teaching in the private and public school systems for 27 years as a private tutor, business owner, educational consultant and a teacher. In her role, Colleen will work on fostering a culture of donor-focused stewardship and relationship building.

Michelle O'Brien
Director of Events & Volunteers

Michelle has been an SFT parent and volunteer for many years. She will oversee fundraising efforts, explore new opportunities and coordinate our network of volunteers. Michelle holds a degree in Social Work with 20 years Management experience in the Medical Geriatric field. She currently works as a Marketing and Social Media Specialist for a not for profit Senior Housing complex. Michelle has experience in Government and State grant writing, and has also planned both large and small fundraising events.

Susan Lecki
Director of Marketing

Susan comes from a background in sales and marketing with E! Entertainment Television and Murdoch Magazines. Susan has been involved both on stage and backstage in various community theaters in Connecticut. She recently rekindled her loved of acting making her SFT debut in To Gillian on Her 37th Birthday. Susan has been an educator for over 17 years and is currently teaching English, Public Speaking, Theater and Acting at Maloney High School in Meriden and has directed several shows at the high school including Footloose during her tenure as Props and Paints advisor. Susan is excited to use her experience to help spread the word about SFT! As Director of Marketing, she will aid in implementing

Tobi-Ann Brown

Tobi is a founding board member and inaugural Treasurer of The Square Foot Theatre Company. She has been an instrumental part of the company since its inception in 2007. Before her retirement, Tobi spent over 20 years working in the special education spectrum and also tutored students at her
