Prominent Bank To Close Branch In Wallingford

Officials confirmed the bank will close two branches in Connecticut later this year.

WALLINGFORD, CT — TD Bank will close two branches in Fairfield and Wallingford later this year, officials announced Thursday.

TD Bank officials confirmed to Patch that the downtown locations at 643 Post Road in Fairfield and 2 North Main Street in Wallingford will close on Sept. 20.

After the closings, TD Bank will have more than 50 remaining locations in Connecticut. Fairfield will have one remaining TD Bank location at 1715 Black Rock Turnpike, and Wallingford also has a TD Bank branch at 928 North Colony Road.

As part of this strategy, the bank regularly evaluates its physical store network and looks for opportunities to better align our network of stores to best serve our customers through an optimal mix of convenient TD Bank locations and digital banking products and services.

“As a result, we've made the decision to close our Fairfield-Post Road and Wallingford-Downtown stores on September 20. We are committed to making this transition as smooth as possible for our impacted customers and colleagues and look forward to continuing to provide legendary service through any channel our customers choose.”

The closures are TD Bank’s first in Connecticut since 2021 when it shuttered six branches in Hartford, Middlebury, Winsted, New Canaan, West Haven, and Woodbridge.
