Teachers, Paraeducators Of The Year Honored In Wallingford

The Wallingford Board of Education and Superintendent of Schools Salvatore Menzo honor the district's teacher and paraeducators of the year.

WALLINGFORD, CT — The Wallingford Board of Education recently recognized the district’s teachers and paraeducators of the year, along with the administrator of the year.

Superintendent of Schools Salvatore Menzo shared the full list of honorees with the school community on Tuesday.

“We are very proud of their accomplishments and recognition,” Menzo said.

2020 Paraeducator of the Year

Jennifer Jayne was selected as the 2020 Paraeducator of the Year. Jennifer is a Paraeducator at Parker Farms Elementary School. She is known for her conscientious efforts to assist students, families, and staff. She helps students feel welcome and connected to school. In doing so, they achieve greater levels of success.

2020 Teacher of the Year

Dan Wostbrock was selected as the 2020 Wallingford Public Schools Teacher of the Year. Dan is a science teacher at Mark T. Sheehan High School. Known for his strong connections with students in his classroom and on the field, he has made a significant impact in the lives of many students in our community. Dan has been an active member of many district committees. We are very fortunate and proud to have Dan selected as our District Teacher of the Year.

2020 Administrator of the Year

Christina Sagnella was selected as the 2020 Wallingford Public Schools Administrator of the Year. Christina is the principal of Parker Farms Elementary School. There she has developed a true family of staff and students. The atmosphere in Parker Farms is one that exudes caring and kindness for each other. Supporting her staff academically and emotionally, Christina is extremely successful as a leader who leads by example and is willing to take on any challenge or task for the greater good.

I also want to recognize the building-level paraeducators and teachers of the year.
