Teen, 13, Robbed Gas Station At Knifepoint: Wallingford Police

Police saw the 13-year-old "running frantically" after leaving the gas station and arrested him, according to officials.

WALLINGFORD, CT — A 13-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the knifepoint robbery of a gas station in Wallingford on Tuesday, according to police.

Police responded to Citgo at 259 Quinnipiac Street on the report of a male juvenile wearing a red mask, black clothes with a knife in his hand, according to Officer Alex Torres.

An investigation found that the teen pointed a knife at the cashier and demanded money from the register, Torres said.

“The cashier realized it was a kid and told him ‘no’,” Torres wrote in a news release. “The male juvenile exited the Citgo and began to run down Geneva Avenue. Patrol units arrived and observed the male juvenile running frantically on Bull Avenue and were able to apprehend him.”

The 13-year-old was charged with first-degree robbery. He was issued a court date of July 18 at Superior Court Juvenile Matters in New Haven, according to Torres.
