Verizon to Close Wallingford, Meriden Call Centers in 2017: Reports
The move reportedly will impact more than 500 employees.

WALLINGFORD, CT — Telecommunications giant Verizon has announced that it will close its Meriden and Wallingford customer service call centers by March of 2017, according to media reports.
Though the closings will impact more than 500 employees between the two locations, those employees will be given opportunities to join other customer call centers, writes WTNH-TV.
About 490 people worked at the Wallingford facility and about 60 at the Meriden site, reports WFSB-TV. They will all be offered a relocation assistance package because the available sites are located outside of Connecticut. But those employees will be given the opportunity to visit other call center locations before making a decision.
