The single most pressing issue facing our town/district is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it.

Finding the best use of our school facilities to foster student learning. I do not have a stance on merging schools until I learn about the impact of such a decision on curriculum and instruction. Once I have a better understanding of long-term cost savings, I would like to know how that money is being re-invested in our students.

What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

I graduated from high school only a little over a year ago and am currently a full-time undergraduate student at Quinnipiac University. I will provide the student perspective.

List other issues that define your campaign platform:

I want to always strive to maintain a positive relationship with teachers and parents that keeps our district united in a vision to prepare our students, starting with our youngest learners, for the future. I will always be open and transparent, accessible to anyone who wants to talk. I invite the town to reach out to me on Facebook, by calling or texting 203-208-8534, or by emailing doeringforboard@gmail.com.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?

Sheehan Student Council President and student liaison to the Board of Education, including presenting at approximately 20 Board of Education meetings. Connecticut State Student Advisory Council on Education. STEM Steering Committee, District Leadership Team, District Wellness Committee, and One Fund Wallingford. Church of the Nazarene board member and food pantry leader. United Way board member and grant money allocator.
