Wallingford Death Notices: Feb. 2 Through Feb. 8, 2026

WALLINGFORD, CT — Below are recent death notices from Wallingford.

Thomas E. Bauer, 87, died Feb. 2, 2026. A U.S. Air Force veteran and Quinnipiac College graduate, he was a computer programmer for 30 years with S.N.E.T. who later worked for the U.S. Postal Service and as a driver for Masonic and Choate Rosemary Hall, past Exalted Ruler and 1980 Elk of the Year with Elks Lodge #1365.

John Robert Kozak, 70, died Feb. 3, 2026. A longtime Water and Sewer Division employee for the Town of Wallingford and a Sheehan High School graduate who was an avid automobile enthusiast known for fixing and maintaining cars for others as well as himself, and was a husband, father and grandfather.

Wiktoria Fajer, 93, died Feb. 3, 2026. After a childhood that was affected by difficult times of World War II, she was a childhood-education specialist with a master’s degree and spent more than 45 years as a teacher and school director.

Catharine McPherson, 71, died Feb. 3, 2026. She was a longtime employee of Amphenol who enjoyed fishing trips, reading, coloring, watching TV, traveling to Montana, caring for her Chihuahuas including Chi Chi, and driving her red truck.

Harriet R. Wilson, 85, died Feb. 5, 2026. She worked at WNHC Radio and co-owned an appliance repair service for 25 years with her husband, served as an assistant Girl Scout leader, Cub Scout den mother and school board member, was named 1976 Woman of the Year by the Wallingford chapter of Hadassah.

Kenneth Polanski, 78, died Feb. 5, 2026. A U.S. Navy veteran who served two tours in the Vietnam War, he attended Wilcox Technical School and later studied at Paier School of Art and Rochester Institute of Technology, worked at Wallace Silversmith crafting silver pieces, and pursued writing, engraving, pottery and memorial design.

Thomas J. Rogus, 64, died Feb. 7, 2026. A graduate of Mark T. Sheehan High School, he worked as a sous chef and cook at Yankee Silversmith, The Cabin, Westbrook Lobster, San Souci, Cheshire Academy and 500 Blake Street, who enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking and spending his time in the kitchen cooking.

Elizabeth L. “Betty” (Grassi) DaCunto, 85, died Feb. 8, 2026. She was a career banker who rose from teller to manager and later loan manager and office manager for an oil company, a hairdressing school alumna, and enjoyed cooking Italian meals, casino outings, bingo with friends, and time with her husband and their children.
