WALLINGFORD, CT — Below are recent death notices from Wallingford.
Lawrence A. Whipple, 94, died Feb. 22, 2026. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and Connecticut National Guard captain who retired after 21 years of service and worked more than two decades as a service manager at Valenti Chevrolet while enjoying building and fixing things, model cars, Sunday breakfasts, and family trips to Disney.
Thomas L. Niland, 92, died Feb. 22, 2026. A U.S. Air Force veteran who worked for the Southern New England Telephone Company until his retirement, he enjoyed camping, sledding, skating, fishing, building puzzles and playing cards with family and friends.

Steven P. Reid, 67, died Feb. 23, 2026. A graphic arts color scanner operator for Colotone, Gamma One and Vertis and later a senior customer service representative at Brook & Whittle, he volunteered as a youth hockey coach and registrar for the Wallingford Hawks and enjoyed camping, boating, hiking, jogging, skiing and following UConn women’s basketball, the Boston Red Sox, and the New York Giants.
Caroline L. Ruwet, 86, died Feb. 24, 2026. She was a nurse and childcare provider who was active at Our Lady of Fatima Parish in Yalesville and devoted much of her time to caring for patients, children, and families.

Michael Vance Epting, 72, died Feb. 28, 2026. He worked for many years as a manager at Tech Circuits Inc. before retirement and was a lover of all animals, especially his fur babies Molly, Gaby, Reggie, and Jennie.
E. Richard “Rich” Wrinn, 59, died March 2, 2026. A graduate of Choate Rosemary Hall and College of the Holy Cross, he worked in various trades and enjoyed fishing and fly tying, and loved spending time with his beloved family.
F. Robert Fritz III, 88, died March 4, 2026. He was an educator in the Wallingford Public Schools who founded the Yalesville Remedial Program, later served as principal of St. John’s School in Middletown, previously owned the Caiazza Insurance & Travel Agency and later worked with his sons at Dino’s Restaurant, where he continued working and never retired.
Clarence A. Loubier, 87, died March 4, 2026. A U.S. Army veteran who worked as a butcher at First National, Foxon Foods and Stop & Shop and later owned Meatland in East Haven, he enjoyed bowling, jazz music, casino trips, cruises and following UConn women’s basketball.
