Eight months have passed since the Wallingford Dog Park project was started. During that time a really good group of people got together to form Wallingford Dog Lovers Association. We spent several months gaining support and approval from the town departments and other local groups that we needed to go ahead with the park. We thought we had a pre-set site for the park and our goal was to get our Non - Profit status up and running by this month. Unfortunately we had a recent setback when the site we were working on was taken off the table. That has not stopped us. We are presently looking at two other sites that may be suitable for the park. One is a piece of property at Fresh Meadows off of Cheshire Road. The other is the one we would like better. It is a wooded area located at Harrison park. We are waiting for the Parks & Recreation Commissioners to let us know if either of these sites would be usable. We have also started the process of filing our Non Profit status.
