Occupation:

Sales Professional

Family:
My wife Alyssa and I have an infant daughter, Callie, as well as two dogs and a cat.

Does anyone in your family work in politics or government?
No

Previous public office, appointive or elective:
No

Why are you seeking this office?
I’m seeking election for the Board of Education because I’m passionate about building (and maintaining) a dynamic school district for the next generation of students and families here in Wallingford.

The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ____, and this is what I intend to do about it:
A persistent lack of education funding. This is the elephant in the room—and while I may not have direct control over the BOE budget if elected, I promise to fight for every penny to keep the public informed at every step of the way.

What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
I have tremendous respect for everyone serving on the Wallingford Board of Education right now, regardless of party affiliation. They’ve each dedicated countless hours of time and energy to an unpaid position that’s largely thankless (at best). I believe they all do it because they truly love our community, and that’s really admirable. However, as things continue to trend in the wrong direction for our schools, it might be helpful to have some fresh perspective on the BOE. Lastly, as a new candidate, I care far more about the well-being of our school district than about any longstanding political relationships in town.

What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?
We need our elected leaders to address the affordable housing crisis in Wallingford. This is affecting families and children all across town. For reference, the latest data indicates that 38% of our families now qualify for ALICE assistance (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed).

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
As a sales professional with a good eye for numbers and analytics, I feel that my professional background would be invaluable for this role. Most importantly, I like to consider myself a “people person”, and look forward to building coalitions with my BOE colleagues, teachers, and administrators alike.

What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?
Get off the internet so much and get more engaged with your community

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
I’m passionate about improving our schools, but I can’t do it alone.

Wallingford Republicans have had a 6-3 majority on the Town Council since 2012, and it’s been more than 40 years since we elected a Democrat as Mayor. On November 4th, it’s time for a new vision. Visit VoteBlue06492.com for more information!
