Wallingford Little League Begins State Championship Tournament
Wallingford will face Fairfield, which advanced to the Little League World Series last year, in the state championship tourney on Thursday.

WALLINGFORD, CT — The Wallingford 12U All-Star baseball team’s opening game in the Little League state championship tournament against Fairfield was postponed to Thursday due to weather. Wallingford will take on Fairfield American on Thursday, July 26 at 8 p.m. at East Lyme Field (31 Society Road in Niantic).
Wallingford won the Section II championship with a 10-2 victory over Shelton American. It was the program’s third straight sectional championship. Fairfield American, which advanced to the Little League World Series last year, is the Section I champion.
The members of the Wallingford 12U team are Tyler Casey, Zach Ginter, Braden Golden, Simeon Levesque, James Lynch, Kevin Milewski, Kyle Mitchell, Jacob Morrison, Connor Nickischer, Jack Pesta, Owen Rich, Anshul Shah and Kyle Stolting. The team is managed by Brian Mitchell and coaches are Brian Casey and Billy Rich.
