Wallingford Little Leaguers Head to State Tournament

WALLINGFORD, CT — The Wallingford Little League 9-10 Year-Old All-Star team begins play in the state championship tournament on Wednesday night.

Wallingford, which claimed the Section 2 championship with a 10-0 victory over Burlington, will play Trumbull American at 8 p.m. at Gardiners Wood Road Patterson Field in Waterford.

The remaining teams in the four-team double-elimination tournament are Mystic and Brooklyn/Pomfret.

Kyle Mitchell pitched a one-hitter to lead Wallingford against Burlington while receiving offensive support from Owen Rich, Kevin Milewski, Tyler Casey and Simeon Levesque, who each recorded two hits apiece, according to the Meriden Record-Journal.

Directions to Waterford LL (Gardiners Wood Road) - Take I-91S to I-95N to Exit 72 (Rocky Neck State Park). At the end of the connector, turn left onto Rt. 156 east. Follow Rt. 156 for 4.8 miles to intersection with Gardiners Wood Rd. Turn right and follow Gardiners Wood Road for 1/2 mile - the fields will be on your right.
