Wallingford Man Charged with Selling Crack Cocaine

Wallingford Police completed a two-month investigation with the arrest of a town man accused of selling crack cocaine in town.

Members of the department’s Emergency Services Unit (ESU) and Detective Unit executed an arrest warrant and a search and seizure warrant at 71 Tremper Drive at about 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 2.

Lt. Michael Colavolpe said the warrants were the result of a two-month long investigation into the sales of crack cocaine from that address.

Rashod Newton, 22, of 71 Tremper Drive, was arrested and charged with three counts of sales of narcotics and three counts of possession of narcotics.

Newton has previous convictions for narcotic-related charges, carrying a pistol without a permit, and interfering/running from the police, according to Colavolpe.

Newton was detained on a $35,000 bond and is scheduled to appear at Meriden Superior Court on Dec. 16.
