Decision Made On Wallingford Memorial Day Parade

With rain in the forecast, town officials announced an update to the Wallingford Memorial Day Parade.

WALLINGFORD, CT — Due to the expected rain in the forecast, Monday’s Memorial Day Parade in Wallingford has been canceled, officials announced on Sunday evening.

The Memorial Day Ceremony will now take place indoors at Mark T. Sheehan High School Auditorium at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 25.

“Thank you for your understanding, and we hope you’ll join us indoors for the ceremony,” officials wrote in a post on Facebook.

(Original post) WALLINGFORD, CT — Wallingford’s Memorial Day Parade will take place on Monday, May 25.

An Interfaith Memorial Day Service will take place at 7 p.m. on Sunday, May 24 at 1st Congregational Church at 23 S. Main Street in Wallingford. The public is invited.

On Memorial Day, the service at Dutton Park will start at 9 a.m. and will be followed immediately by the Memorial Day Parade through downtown Wallingford.

The parade steps off at Dutton Park, then travel south on North Main Street and conclude at Town Hall, with wreaths placed at several local memorials along the route.

In the event of inclement weather, the Monday service will be held at the Sheehan High School Auditorium at 10 a.m.
