Wallingford Nursing Home Fined $10K For Violations: Report
The state Department of Public Health fined five nursing homes for errors that endangered or injured residents, the CT Health I-Team reports
WALLINGFORD, CT — Regency House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Wallingford has been fined $10,000 by the state Department of Public Health for two incidents that occurred last year, according to the Connecticut Health I-Team.
Cara Rosner of the Connecticut Health I-Team reports a resident suffered a calf laceration that required 10 sutures after a wheelchair rolled into a bed frame last September.
In another incident last August, a resident was hospitalized for a platelet transfusion after erroneously receiving 11 extra doses of methotrexate, which is used to treat rheumatoid arthritis, according to Rosner.
