Wallingford Opens Certified Police Officer Application Process
The department has been "actively addressing staffing needs" over the past 14 months, according to officials.
WALLINGFORD, CT — The Wallingford Police Department announced this week that it has opened the application process for hiring certified police officers.
Chief John Ventura said in a news released that the department has been “actively addressing staffing needs” over the past 14 months. The department has hired six entry level police officers and one certified police officer during that time with each officer in various stages of their training process, according to Ventura.
“The addition of these officers allows the agency to engage in more proactive police activities and the ability to replenish shortages in the patrol and special services divisions,” Ventura wrote in the news release. “We would like to announce the opening of a Certified Police Officer Hiring Process. Applicants must be either active Connecticut P.O.S.T.C. Certified Police officers in good standing with their current department or have retired in good standing, still having Connecticut P.O.S.T.C. Certified Police Officer certification status.”
