Wallingford Police Officer Prevents Distraught Teen from Jumping off Bridge
The police officer is credited with saving the life of a 15-year-old who threatened to jump from a bridge.

WALLINGFORD, CT — A 20-year veteran of the Wallingford Police Department is credited with saving the life of a distraught teen who threatened to jump from a bridge on Wednesday morning, according to the Meriden Record-Journal.
The Record-Journal reports Officer Chris Evans tried to talk the 15-year-old out of jumping off the Hall Avenue bridge over the Quinnipiac River but the teen ran across to the other side of the bridge and was nearly struck by a car.
The teen attempted to climb the rail again to jump but Evans ended up tackling him to get him under control, according to the Record-Journal.
