Wallingford Police Officers Honored By U.S. Attorney’s Office

A Wallingford police detective and task force officer have been honored for their work that led to "significant" criminal prosecutions.

WALLINGFORD, CT — Two members of the Wallingford Police Department were recently honored for their work that led to “significant” criminal prosecutions, according to officials.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Connecticut held a ceremony Thursday at the City of New Haven’s aldermanic chambers and recognized individuals for their investigative efforts and other contributions to significant federal criminal prosecutions and civil cases in Connecticut.

Detective Sean Houlihan and Task Force Officer Jeffrey Gervais of the Wallingford Police Department were both recognized for their casework while assigned to the U.S. Secret Service Task Force and FBI Taskforce, according to a news release. Both cases both occurred and had victims in Wallingford.

“Detective Houlihan’s fraud cases were linked to multiple mail thefts in Wallingford and subsequent fraud victims,” police wrote in the news release. “The accused were ordered to pay $116,152.26 in restitution to their victims and were sentenced to imprisonment. TFO Gervais’ cases linked two carjackings of rideshare drivers on South Turnpike Road to others across the state. The defendants were identified, arrested then pleaded guilty and were sentenced to lengthy prison terms.

“The Wallingford Police Department is thankful for Detective Houlihan’s and TFO Gervais’ hard work and dedication.”
