Wallingford Police Participating In 1st National Night Out Event

There will be food trucks, music, games, and giveaways in addition to appearances from members of other town departments, police said.

WALLINGFORD, CT — The Wallingford Police Department has announced that it will participate in its first-ever National Night Out event.

National Night Out will feature an “evening where members of the public can engage in fun activities with local police officers to build a stronger and safer place to live through community policing initiatives,” according to police.

“The National Association of Town Watch (NATW), dedicated to enhancing the communities in which we live and work, started this event in 1984,” police wrote in a news release. “Since its inception, the nonprofit organization has reached 2+ million neighbors, 400 communities, and 23 states.”

Wallingford’s event will take place from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 6 at Doolittle Park at 80 South Elm Street in Wallingford. The rain date is Aug. 7 at the same time.
