Wallingford Police Seek Cemetery Vandals

Five gravestones were recently vandalized in a Wallingford cemetery and police are investigating.

Wallingford, CT — Wallingford Police are investigating after five gravestones were found toppled or broken in the historic Center Street Cemetery last weekend, according to the Meriden Record-Journal.

The Record-Journal reports three broken gravestones were discovered on Sunday morning and two more were found to be vandalized later in the week.

It will cost the town nearly $1,000 to repair the gravestones and the association that maintains the cemetery is considering increasing security measures to deter future vandalism, according to the Record-Journal.
