Wallingford Police Warn Residents Of Overnight Vehicle Break-Ins

Police say the suspects are targeting unlocked vehicles in all parts of town.

Wallingford Police are reminding residents to lock their vehicles after receiving several reports of break-ins during the overnight hours.

The department has been receiving and is investigating many complaints of thefts from motor vehicles, especially during the month of September, according to Lt. Cheryl Bradley.

Bradley said the suspects are targeting vehicles that are unlocked and stealing anything of value including loose change, wallets and GPS units.

These thefts are occurring primarily during the overnight hours, all days of the week, in all parts of town. Most of the vehicles are parked in residential driveways or in the roadway fronting a residence, according to Bradley.

The Wallingford Police Department is asking for the public’s help by reporting any information you may have regarding this activity or any suspicious activity you may observe. They are also encouraging all residents to lock the doors of your vehicles.
