Wallingford Resident Appointed to Teach for America - CT Board

Teach for America - Connecticut, part of a national corps of leaders committed to teaching in low-income schools and confronting educational inequity, has appointed Robinson+Cole lawyer Britt-Marie K. Cole-Johnson to its Advisory Board. Ms. Cole-Johnson was a member of the 2004 Teach for America corps and worked as a teacher in Atlanta, Georgia, prior to attending law school.

Ms. Cole-Johnson is a member of Robinson+Cole’s Labor and Employment Group. She focuses her practice on counseling private sector employers, ranging from NYSE and NASDAQ companies, multinational corporations, nonprofit organizations, and educational institutions to manufacturers, in all areas of employment law. Ms. Cole-Johnson routinely handles sensitive, high-risk personnel issues and workplace investigations as well as compliance and training. Ms. Cole-Johnson also serves as a trusted advisor to Boards of Directors faced with crises, including investigations, executive transitions, ethics issues, and employment-related matters.

The mission of Teach for America is to enlist, develop, and mobilize as many of the nation's most promising future leaders as possible to grow and strengthen the movement for educational equity and excellence. The Connecticut chapter recruits, trains and develops college graduates and career-changing professionals as one additional source of teaching talent in public schools in Hartford, New Haven, and Bridgeport.
