Wallingford Resident Earns National D-II Athlete Of The Week Honor

WALLINGFORD, CT — Wallingford's Jordan Davis, a senior on the Southern Connecticut State University men's track and field team, was named the M-F Athletic Division II National Athlete of the Week, the USTFCCCA announced on Tuesday.

Davis, a Sheehan graduate, is the first recipient of the honor in Southern Connecticut history.

Davis' latest honor adds to a long list of accolades. A two-time NCAA Division II All-American, and three-time qualifier, Davis captured the 2022 NCAA Division II National Championship.

Last season, he won his third-straight NE10 and New England Championships on his way to be named the NE10 Field Athlete of the Year and the USTFCCCA East Region Field Athlete of the Year. He also holds the SCSU, NE10 and NEICAAA record in the javelin.

Davis was also named NE10 Male Field Athlete of the Week.

Davis set a NCAA DII record in the javelin at the 96th Texas Clyde Littlefield Relays over the weekend.
