Wallingford Salon Closes For Good Months After ‘Unforeseen Accident’
The owners said they were left with "very few options" more than six months after a driver crashed into the business.
WALLINGFORD, CT — A popular salon is closing its doors for good in Wallingford after the owners said they were left with “very few options” more than six months after a driver crashed into the business.
The 79-year-old driver crashed through the front door and went about 60 feet into the M. Salon & Spa at 1114 North Colony Road in Wallingford on May 2, police said at the time.
Police said customers and staff were in the salon at the time of the crash, but no injuries were reported. No enforcement action was taken, police said.

The owners posted a message on Facebook addressed to their clients on Wednesday night, informing them of the closure.
“Our priority is to inform you first, as we consider you family and dear friends at M,” the post reads. “It has been an extremely difficult six months and this decision was not one that we wanted to make. Since the circumstances surrounding the unforeseen accident at the salon. We were left with very few options but to close the doors of M. Salon and Spa.

“We want to first thank you all for your love, support, and understanding throughout this challenging process. M. Salon and Spa has been our passion and home away from home. It has been a privilege and joy to know and work with you over the past 21 years. We thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for your support throughout the years. We are incredibly proud of all we have accomplished in these glorious years and could not be more thankful to those who have believed and invested in us.”

The salon’s customers were saddened by the news.
“Loved this salon for over 20 years, wishing you all the best in the future endeavors and thank you for always making me feel at home,” one person wrote in the comments under the post on Facebook.
Another person wrote, “Your salon is well loved and will be missed. Good luck to every stylists in their new homes. We surely will miss seeing everyone.”
