Wallingford's Holiday Travel Forecast: Snow Chance Later in the Week

So if you are planning a relatively early start to that holiday travel … You better watch out. That’s because all eyes are on a storm system that could produce some snow on Thursday morning.

Some forecasts are calling for all rain near the shore, so keep an eye on the radar as we get deeper into the week.

Other than that, you better not cry because it looks like that any snow we get could turn to rain and then mild temperatures move in for the Christmas Eve travel crunch.

Rudolph should have an easy night as Santa makes the rounds, according to AccuWeather meteorologist Danny Pydynowski. The Thursday storm system will speed off for all to have a merry weather Christmas and all to have a good night.

“Ground and air travel along the East Coast looks better on Friday with dry weather up and down the I-95 corridor,” Pydynowksi said.

The same goes for inland locations, according to the National Weather Service.

Unsettled weather may return on Sunday and/or Monday, according to the National Weather Service.

Here are the predictions so far, via the National Weather Service:

• Monday night: Clear, with a low around 13.
• Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 35. Wind chill values between 15 and 25. Calm wind becoming southwest around 5 mph in the afternoon. A low of around 19 is predicted for the night.
• Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 44 and a low of around 24 at night.
• Thursday: A chance of snow showers, freezing rain, and sleet before 9 a.m., then a chance of rain showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 44. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
• Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 43 and a low of around 26 at night.
• Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 44 and a low of 30 at night.
• Christmas Day: Partly sunny, with a high near 45.
