Wallingford's Our Lady of Fatima Church Names Married Priest as New Pastor

Connecticut only has two married priests, according to church officials.

WALLINGFORD, CT — The Rev. Robert Landback, a 66-year-old priest who is married with four children, has been named the new pastor at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Wallingford, replacing the Rev. Salvatore Cavagnuolo.

Landback, who lives with his family in New Haven where his wife, Sally, has a law practice, was granted a pastoral provision to become a priest, reports the Meriden Record-Journal.

He is one of only two married Catholic priests in Connecticut, and converted to the religion in 2005. Prior to that, he was an Episcopal priest, and was once a marriage and family therapist, among other professions.
