Wallingford's Rentas Earns NE-10 Conference Pitching Honors
Rentas, a freshman on the SCSU baseball team, was honored for his efforts this past week, including a complete-game shutout.
WALLINGFORD, CT — Wallingford’s Brandon Rentas, a freshman on the Southern Connecticut State University baseball team, was selected as both the Northeast-10 Conference Rookie of the Week as well as the Co-Pitcher of the Week, the league announced on Monday afternoon.
Rentas helped the Owls post their second shutout of the season on Saturday afternoon in a 5-0 win against Le Moyne. He picked up his fourth victory with nine scoreless innings, allowing just two hits and walking only one. He also struck out four for the third time this season.
Southern Connecticut wrapped up its regular season this past weekend with a 2-1 series loss to Le Moyne College. The Owls finished the season with an overall record of 16-25-1 and 8-10.
