Wallingford's Soriano Helps SCSU Men's Soccer Achieve 3-0 Start, No. 7 National Ranking

Wallingford’s Alex Soriano, a sophomore on the Southern Connecticut State University men’s soccer team, has helped the Owls reach their highest national ranking in seven years by virtue of its 3-0 start to the 2014 season. SCSU is currently ranked No. 7 in Division II in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America poll.

Soriano, a 2013 Northeast-10 Conference All-Rookie Team selection, has started all three matches on the year so far for the Owls. In Southern’s 2014 season opener against No. 8 nationally ranked LIU-Post, Soriano set up Kevin Joslyn with the game-winning goal in a 1-0 triumph over the Pioneers.

The Owls are back in action tomorrow for a road game at Assumption.
