Wrong-Way Driver Charged With DUI After Stop On I-91 In Wallingford: State PD
The driver is accused of operating under the influence while driving the wrong way on I-91, according to police.
WALLINGFORD, CT — A North Branford woman is accused of operating under the influence while driving the wrong way on I-91 in Wallingford early Saturday morning, according to Connecticut State Police.
The driver was stopped around 2:30 a.m. on I-91 North just before Exit 13, according to police.
Police said the driver, identified as 22-year-old Daria Rae McCabe, was stopped in the left lane of three facing oncoming traffic. McCabe’s eyes appeared to be bloodshot glossy and an odor of alcohol emanated from her mouth, according to police.

McCabe failed the Standard Field Sobriety Tests and was arrested, police said.
McCabe was charged with operating under the influence of alcohol/drugs, driving wrong way in divided highway and reckless driving. She was released after posting a $500 bond with a court date of June 16.
