2 Dead After Car Crash In Waterford: Police

Following the Saturday morning crash, police said Cross Road in Waterford would be closed for an extended period of time.

WATERFORD, CT — Two people are dead following a Saturday morning car crash on Cross Road near Waterford, according to authorities.

Waterford police said officers responded to a single-car crash near Cross and Foster roads shortly before 5:30 a.m. When officers arrived, they found a red Subaru Legacy resting against a stone wall.

According to police, three people were inside the car at the time of the crash. All were taken to the hospital. Police said the driver's injuries were not life-threatening, while the two passengers died at the hospital.

Police did not release the identities of the victims.

The crash prompted police to close Cross Road while officers investigated. Residents were asked to avoid the area.
